“Weird Al” Yankovic – The Meowth and HyperCam Interview

Unregistered HyperCam 2

welcome back 2 al tv 2nite we have mr weird al yankovitch

Meowth

Actually Hypercam, it’s Yankovic, not Yankovich.

Thanks for having me, Meowth and HyperCam! By the way Mr. Cam, I know it’s your favorite, so I brought you a Twinkie Weiner Sandwich.

am i paying 4 that?

No… the first one’s free.

Meowth

Now then, I think I’ll start by asking about your new… uh, “Stand”?

Oh yeah, this is 「BEAT IT」. In all honesty, I’m still having trouble fully understanding the concept. I think it’s from an anime that mentioned me once or something?

Meowth

Well, do you remember what happened when you first obtained “Beat It”?

It was after the first tournament, when I lost to that fat penguin. Losing the first match of the entire competition was the most embarrassment I’ve felt since losing on Jeopardy! But I remained determined, and that determination manifested into BEAT IT.

Meowth

And this gives you the power of the King of Pop, correct?

That’s right, though quite personally, I would’ve preferred my stand to be in the form of Harvey the Wonder Hamster…

mr yancovick i really liek ur song which backstreet boy is gay

My… what?

Meowth

Uh, back to the interview, what do you think of the competition this time around?

I’m actually surprised with how many familiar faces are joining. Jack Black, Johnny Bravo, Daft Punk, even Marshall’s here! Bet the guy still can’t solve a single basic mathematical formula.

Meowth

Oh yeah, considering that you’ve parodied some of the other competitors’ works, I can imagine you having potential for Duel Arrangements. Which reminds me, don’t you share sources with Doctor Robotnik?

Yeah, still not sure how I feel about that Sonic trailer using Amish Para-

Meowth

Oh no, I wasn’t referring to that. I was talking about music from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles!

Oh right, I forgot. Apparently, Mister Jackson was the composer for that game…I think?

Meowth

Yeah, the jury’s still out on the identity of the composer of Sonic 3, though what little archives we have here simply credit “Michael Jackson”. Maybe we could get Phoenix to investigate this mystery for us after he’s finished with his current case. But back to the interview, your first opponent is a fellow veteran, Geno. Are you nervous about going up against him?

Not really. I won’t go down so easily again, not with 「BEAT IT」 at my side!

Meowth

Glad you’ve got confidence, especially after last time, but I wouldn’t underestimate the competition if I were you.

Well, I may dare to be stupid, but I know better than that. I didn’t bring my all during the battle against Dedede, but this time I’m training hard to win against that puppet. After this interview, I’m going to the track to run with scissors!

Meowth

Sounds unsafe…

That’s what they said when I put out that grease fire with my face, and how did that turn out?

Meowth

…I don’t know?

C’mon man, haven’t you listened to Albuquerque?

Meowth

I don’t have that kind of time. Speaking of which, we’re almost off the clock here! Anything else you’d like to say to the fans before your first battle begins?

If anyone wants to catch me after the show, I’ll be at the bowling alley with Paul McCartney and my pal Marshall!

Meowth

And is there anything 「BEAT IT」 would like to say?

Well, 「BEAT IT」 doesn’t actually communi-

「BEAT IT」

Shamone, hee hee, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH

…That’s pretty much the only thing he says.

Meowth

Anyway, thanks so much for coming on.

No problem! I’ve gotta say, this fancy new way of doing interviews is super interesting.

Meowth

Huh?

You know, being in the same room actually talking to them and all. It’s really something else!

Meowth

I mean, isn’t that the whole idea of an interview? Nevermind, let’s just call it quits here. Well folks, guess that’s it for now. Thank you for coming and I hope you look forward to our next interview!
