w8 snak did u put im to slep lik alll teh others
Are you kidding me? There’s no way I could put this kid to sleep with a neck as big as his… if he even has a neck.
Hmm… Still, HyperCam has a point. The interview has to start; shouldn’t we wake up Don-chan?
We can let him have a little rest. He trained well this morning, and I can handle the interview myself!
Well, if that’s okay with you, let’s start this interview! First, we have Solid Snake to my left… and I hope I’ll be able to actually ask more than one question to you.
Yeah, I kept you waiting back then, huh. Thankfully, I spoke to Otacon already. He won’t be bothering us this time around.
Marvelous! And to my right, we have… well… half of the Rhythm Masters, with Hakuko, holding in her arms a sleeping Don-chan. That’s quite the picture!
its 2 bad we dnt hv tim for an artist 2 draw it
Aww, don’t worry lil’ camera guy! That picture wouldn’t have been as impressive as the ones taken by my friend the race car photographer! He can freeze a perfect frame of a car passing by in front of him at full speed!
Hmm… that sounds like the type of skill we could use back at FOXHOUND. I’ll have to ask for a separate form of contact on that friend of yours after the interview.
Alrighty then, let’s get on with the questions! Hakuko, your current path to the finals is one of the most blood-pumping of this tournament! A 20-vote defeat in Round 1, followed by a landslide victory in losers’ bracket!
Oh yes! This 20-vote defeat in the first round was quite the shocker for all my rhythm friends! Thankfully, the Fan Club monkeys did a good job at cheering me up!
Well, it’s good to know you were back on your feet and ready to tap back in again. However, I remember seeing you without Don-chan right after your first defeat. You two are always together though! Where was he?
y dont u ask hhim ohhhhhhhhhh yeh righ. hes aslep my bad.
Hmm… you’re right. Don-chan disappeared for a little while, and I was quite worried at first. Thankfully, there was another superb contestant who accepted to look for him and make him feel a bit better.
And who was this superb contestant?
…He asked me not to tell.
Huh? Is something the matter, Snake?
Well, erm… I’m sure he’s thinking about his strategies while I’m answering your questions!
Hrrng… Yes, that sounds about right.
Oh! Speaking of Snake, he has a very good friend to ask for advice when preparing for his next fights. I assume you also prepared quite well, Hakuko — given your landslide victory against Eminem. Did you have to ask anybody for advice?
Well, hm… of course! Rap has a certain rhythm to consider, but I had a few rap friends to coach me a bit. I didn’t end up becoming a “rap goddess”, but I had enough training to take this salsa guy on and get through!
I guess it makes sense for you to ask rappers for some extra training. But now, let’s turn back to Snake. Your road so far has been rather conventional; first off, you beat Pitbull and the Aliens in Round 1 with a fair score. It’s nice you got through the first round this time!
Yeah, those aliens weren’t as dangerous as I’d first assumed. They seemed less interested in fighting and more in dancing. “Mr. Worldwide”, on the other hand, he put up more of a fight than I could expect. Thankfully, I pulled through.
But then, you conceded quite a significant defeat in Round 2, against Dr. Piccolo… Did something happen while you were training?
Hakuko, is something wrong?
Hrgh… didn’t you notice? She’s making sure the taiko kid is sleeping well… Her hands are rubbing his… back? Do drums even have backs?
You… have quite the sharp eye, Mr. Snake.
Wait a minute… Alright, what’s going on between you two? You’ve both been acting quite weird since this interview started… Is something the matter?
ik ik its losers they don wan to go so soon!1
That’s, um… actually, yeah, it’s exactly that. You’re good at spotting things, HyperCam.
wel im a cameera. i stop tings um spot tungs. im sory tho, even if im da host we hav to ply losers braket
*ahem* So, Snake, uh… what are your thoughts about this duel with the green doctor?
Right, uh… He sure was a tough cookie. He’s got quite the unusual set of sources for a doctor, but I suspect some of his more popular sources have more influence on his performance… Some other contestants are like that as well, mainly pulling from one source among their set.
yeh gren iz cretive coloor
These guys aren’t like the specialist characters who prefer to go for one deeply explored source rather than several different ones superficially. My next, erm, opponents are a good example of that.
That’s a good point, they specialize in rhythm games! But who do you think is the better style between those generalists and specialists?
Frankly, I’m not sure… Both styles can have their uses. I have a pretty diversified set myself, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide against that doctor. That’s besides the point, though. A true soldier doesn’t spend time lingering on defeat, anyways. Only war…
And that war will take a new battlefield as you both go head to head in the next battle. Pinch me though, I wasn’t expecting we would end this interview with a theory of sources… Well, I think we are out of time. Thank you for the interview, good luck to both of you!
baibai!
Phew! Thank goodness that’s over…
Yeah. I haven’t felt this trapped in a while.
I, uh, hope the kid got a well-deserved rest.
I hope you got more time to train this time around.
Hrgh… Alright, enough. It’ll be the end of the line for either of us once this round is over. Sorry to say, Ms. Hakuko, but I’ll have to warn you: don’t expect me to be pulling any punches. I’ll be my usual, cunning and fierce self.
Don’t hold back, Mr. Snake. If you don’t give everything you’ve got, we will. We always strive for a Perfect score, and this match changes nothing about that.
Sneeze… da… don…
